Sonar Tari State Guest House, Agartala  is one of the biggest and beautiful State Guest House in entire country. Spread across  five acre hillock on VIP road Agartala  nearby the  Secretariat complex, it is only at 15 minutes motorable distance from Agartala  Airport. Newly built building of Sonar Tari State Guest House, Agartala was inaugurated on 24^th August 2010 by Sri Manik Sarkar, the Hon’ble Chief Minister,  Tripura

There are two VVIP suits of more than 5000 Sq feet living space. Besides this there are 16 number of VIP suits and 28 number of double bedded fully equipped AC rooms. The State Guest House has two VIP lounges, two conference halls, one big banquet hall to host State Dinners for dignitaries, one snacks counter, one common dining hall and various lobbies and corridors. It also has one well equipped jim for the fitness of dignitaries. Besides this there are beautiful grass lawns, sufficient parking space for parking large number of vehicles, and above all beautiful hillslope gardens for relaxation. All the visiting VVIPs such as Hon’ble Prime Minister,  Hon’ble Union Ministers, hon’ble Chief Ministers of other States, Hon’ble Member of Parliaments, hon’ble Foreign Dignitaries, High ranking Government and PSU officials,  various  State Dignitaries etc usually stay in the State Guest House Agartala during their visit to Tripura. Also all the State Dinners in the honour of the State Guests are being hosted in the State Guest House as per protocol.

The Sonar Tari State Guest House, Agartala  is managed by a Government Society created under the Societies Registration Act 1860.  The Governing Body for Management of Sonar Tari State Guest House is chaired by the senior-most Principal Secretary to  Government of Tripura with various other members. The Executive Body is chaired by the DM & Collector, West Tripura District who is responsible for day to day management of affairs of the State Guest House. The day to day affairs are seen by one full time Chief Executive Officer who is senior TCS Officer of State Service. He is assisted by Protocol officer and other administrative staff.

The State Guest House maintains  well trained hospitality services and other services such as cleaning, laundry, water supply, garden maintenance etc.  All the hospitality staff and have been outsourced so as to maintain proper professional standards. Varied range of delicacy  food is served in the State Guest House as routine. Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited.

Also the Society for management of Sonar Tari State Guest House, Agartala  manages the affairs of the Circuit House, Agartala which also has many VIP rooms, some VIP suits, a conference hall, dining hall. The Circuit House Agartala is available at low charges for all types of guests depending on the vacancy.
